Homemade dice are rarely casino-grade — folds, tape thickness, and ink weight can bias rolls. For classroom demos and rainy-day prototypes that is usually fine; for competitive play, use commercial dice or accept imperfection with grace.
Heavy cardstock or a thin cardboard sandwich keeps cubes from feeling like floppy crackers. Draw pips after assembly so opposite faces still total seven if you care about standard layouts.
