What is gift box templates? Gift box templates are cut-and-fold nets (cube with tuck-in lid, pillow box, pyramid favor box, tuck-top rectangular box) printed on cardstock and glued into small boxes for favors and gifts.
How to make gift box templates: Choose a box style and size, optionally add the To/From lid panel, download the PDF, print on the back of 200–250 gsm cardstock, score every dashed line, cut, fold, and glue the hatched tabs.
Which box for which gift
A pillow box is the fastest to assemble (one glue tab, two folds, press the ends in) and suits flat or soft gifts — gift cards, jewellery, socks, a scarf, a handful of sweets. Because the ends only press shut, it is not for anything heavy or crumbly. The cube box has a real tuck-in lid and four glued walls, so it holds a mug-sized gift, a candle or a stack of cookies without opening in a bag. The pyramid favor box is the party piece: four triangles tied at the top with ribbon, perfect for a single truffle, a macaron or a ring box at a wedding place setting. The tuck-top rectangular box (width × 0.7 depth × 0.5 height, like a small soap or tea box) is the one to pick for Christmas cookie boxes and kid-made teacher gifts — it closes at both ends and stacks.
Print on 200–250 gsm cardstock for the cube, pyramid and tuck-top, and 160–200 gsm for the pillow box so the curved ends bow instead of cracking. The lines are designed to be on the inside of the finished box, so load patterned or coloured paper face-down and print on the back — there is no need to mirror anything, every panel is symmetric about its folds. Score before you fold: run a bone folder or an empty ballpoint pen along each dashed line against a ruler, including the curved pillow-box scores (go slowly, following the arc). Glue tabs are hatched so you can see at a glance which flaps get glue and which are tuck flaps that stay dry.
Sizes are the finished box, not the sheet: Favor 5 cm fits one truffle or a lip balm, Small 7 cm fits a gift card or a tea-light candle, Medium 10 cm fits a mug or six cookies. A 10 cm cube net is wider than a Letter sheet, so the generator scales it to fit and prints the real finished size in the footer; switch to the other orientation, A4, or a smaller size if you need the exact dimension. Turn on the To / From panel for teacher gifts and cookie-exchange boxes so no one has to add a separate tag.
For a coordinated gift set, print the box on the back of a sheet from the gift wrapping paper generator, slip a mini envelope with a gift card inside, and plan the batch on the cookie exchange planner or gift list so every box gets a name.
