Four templates that cover the four-vehicle bedtime story
Paper toy vehicles are the cardboard-box-as-rocket craft turned into a real template. Pick one of four classics: a car (six-panel box net with windows and wheels printed on, roof flap glued last), a truck (two boxes — driver's cab and cargo container — glued side-by-side), an airplane (the classic dart-style folded paper airplane shown as a single-sheet folding diagram with five labelled fold steps), or a boat (flat-bottom hull with bow and stern triangles plus a printed mast and sail).
Solid lines = cut, dashed lines = fold, small triangle tabs = glue. Score every fold line first with a bone folder or a dead ballpoint pen — paper folds cleanly along a scored line, sloppy along an un-scored one. Glue stick works for paper-on-paper; double-sided tape is faster for kids.
Paper weight: 65–80 lb cardstock holds shape. The airplane folding diagram is the exception — use 20 lb copy paper so it actually flies. Pair with the Paper City Buildings for a complete tabletop town, or with Paper Bag Puppets for storytelling vehicles in a puppet show.
