Make your own envelopes at home with this free printable template generator. Choose from four standard sizes — A2, A6, A7, and C5 — that fit common greeting cards, invitations, and folded letters. The template prints with solid cut lines and dashed fold lines, so assembly is as simple as cutting along the outer outline and folding inward along the marked rectangle.

Choosing the right envelope size

A2(4.375" × 5.75") holds a folded note card or RSVP card. A6(4.75" × 6.5") fits a 4" × 6" greeting card. A7(5.25" × 7.25") is the classic invitation envelope, fitting 5" × 7" cards. C5 (162 × 229 mm) is the European business standard and accepts an A4 sheet folded in half.

How to assemble your envelope

Print on heavier paper (24–32 lb) for a sturdy envelope. Cut along the solid outer line, then fold inward on each dashed flap line. Glue or tape the side and bottom flaps together; leave the top flap free until your letter is inside. Add a return address right on the template or write it on the printed envelope before folding.
