Strong lessons start from outcomes, not activities. This template leads with learning objectives and standards so “fun tasks” still tie to measurable aims. The largest block is instruction / guided practice — where you script questions, misconceptions, and checks for understanding.
Differentiation belongs on the same sheet as the main plan so it is not an afterthought squeezed into the margin. Name groupings, scaffolds, and tools explicitly.
- Time-box the opening so hooks do not consume the whole period.
- Write assessments that match the verb in your objective (explain vs. solve vs. compare).
